HOW LONG DOES A SESSION TAKE?

The entire process from start to finish will take 20 minutes or less. However, we can’t promise we won’t talk your leg off and add on to the time before and after the actual airbrush tan application. The entire session upon arrival to departure should take around a total of 30 minutes.

HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?

Your tan should last up to 7-10 days. However, unlike most other beauty services, the life of your airbrush tan is 50% dependent on the artist’s application and solution selection, and also 50% dependent on a client following preparation and maintenance instructions. It is so incredibly important to properly prepare and care for your skin by following our guidelines to ensure a long-lasting tan with an even, gradual fade. The key to a long, GLOing tan is your products. The ingredients in drugstores are laden with alcohols, fragrances, sulfates, and parabens which will strip your tan! Check out BohoGLO’s products that are specifically formulated for airbrush tans.

HOW MANY DAYS IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE A TAN FOR VACATION/AN EVENT?

We highly recommend booking your session at least one day prior to departing for your vacation. Airbrush tans take 24 hours to develop, so the second, third and fourth days of your tan are when it is at it’s peak look and color. For any major events such as weddings or photo shoots, your session should be booked two days in advance. This gives the tan adequate time to develop and be at its peak bronze level.

WHEN SHOULD A BRIDE BOOK AN AIRBRUSH TAN FOR THEIR WEDDING?

We strongly recommend that brides book a trial session that should be done prior to actual wedding tan. Two days before a scheduled makeup trial is ideal in order for your makeup artist to correctly color match to the bride’s tan. The wedding airbrush tan for ceremony and reception needs to be booked at least two days before wedding date.

HOW TAN SHOULD BRIDES GO FOR WEDDING DAY?

This is the exact reason why we recommend a trial session before actual wedding so that we may guarantee the perfect level of darkness, which is usually a more subtle 1-2 shades darker for brides. This assures even skin tone that appears more natural-like and presents more of a sun-kissed glow. Your photographer and future self will thank you as white is a huge contrast next to the tan and will make you appear darker than other colors. Most photographers tend to edit on the warmer side as well, which may sometimes cause tans to appear more orange than they are in real life.

CAN I GET AN AIRBRUSH TAN IF PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?

There are women who love to receive an airbrush tan while pregnant, especially for maternity photos or baby showers. However, we do not recommend scheduling one during your first trimester. DHA is approved by the FDA for external application but we require all expecting mothers to wear nose plugs that are complimentary and provided during a session. We request that all expectant mothers please consult with and obtain permission from their doctor before booking a session. Airbrush tans are safe if breastfeeding as long as the proper precautions are taken. We advise all nursing mothers to consult with their physician before scheduling a session. We require breasts to be covered with either a bikini top or nipple covers, and that your session is scheduled around your baby’s feeding time. We will also only use a rapid solution as the rinse time is 2-6 hours and breastfeeding should be avoided if possible during this time. After your tan has had adequate time to set in and you have rinse properly, breastfeeding may resume.

DOES AN AIRBRUSH TAN PROTECT ME FROM THE SUN?

The solutions used for airbrush tans do NOT contain SPF and will NOT protect you from UV rays or sun damage. Please still apply sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.

will THE TAN STAIN MY CLOTHES, SHEETS, OR OTHER FABRICS?

In the solutions we use, there are bronzers which are temporary and provide immediate color. That is why we strongly recommend wearing dark, loose-fitting clothing until your designated rinse time to minimize the risk of the bronzer transferring to items. However, bronzers are water-soluble and should rinse out of most fabrics. For leather car seats/furnishings, make sure to cover and avoid direct contact.
